  • Popoki is a gorgeous 14 year old American Paint Horse. “Popoki” means “Cat” in Hawaiian. This little lady is one of our top picks for the keiki, with her gentle demeanor.
    The American Paint Horse is a breed of horse that combines both the informational characteristics of a western stock horse with a pinto spotting pattern of white and dark coat colors. Come enjoy a leisurely adventure with Silver Falls Ranch and ask for Popoki!

  • Bailey is a gorgeous Clydesdale/Percheron cross that is built for work! This sweet girl has the personality of a gentle giant, but can carry more than most. The Percheron is a breed of draft horse that originated in the Huisne river valley in western France, part of the former Perche province from which the breed takes its name. Here at Silver Falls Ranch, we like to think our Draft Horses have it easy… If you would like to meet our beautiful Bailey, please come on up for an unforgettable  adventure!

  • Meet Nic and New Kid! These handsome brothers are sired by “Hobby Doc” the first Stallion to stand stud at Silver Falls Ranch. Hobby Doc is out of the foundation Quarter Horse stallion “Doc Bar” who is found in most Working Cow Horses today. The American Quarter Horse is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Its name came from its ability to outdistance other horse breeds in races of a quarter mile or less; some have been clocked at speeds up to 55 mph.

  • Creek is a Grulla Grey, all-American Quarter Horse. What Creek lacks in size, he more than makes up for in personality! This pint-sized gelding is our first choice when we need a horse to pony 5-6 year old’s on the trail or lead-around’s here at the stables. The American Quarter Horse is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Next time you come to Silver Falls Ranch with your young ones, ask for Super Creek!

  • Wheels is a long-legged and smooth as a Cadillac! This Tennessee/Percheron cross has the best of both breeds, with his smooth gaits and big bones. The, Tennessee Walking Horse or Tennessee Walker is a breed of gaited horse known for its unique four-beat running-walk and flashy movement.  If the average horse doesn’t quite meet your comfort needs, ask for Wheels on your next adventure at Silver Falls Ranch!

  • This gorgeous Bay mare is a Percheron cross who came to the Garden Isle with her cart-pulling partner Prince! Queenie loved being part of the dynamic twosome pulling folks in her cart across Arkansas, but quickly took to the more independent way of life as a trail expert for Silver Falls Ranch. With strong bones and big hooves, Queenie is one of our “power” team members that allows us to take out all members of the family on an adventure.

  • Everyone here at the ranch could talk about Akua for hours, and every story, fact, or impression of this magnificent animal would be filled with love, pride, and just plain awe. Akua means “god” in Hawaiian and if there is ever going to be an equine that deserves to carry such a powerful name, it would be this gorgeous Spotted Draft! With a positive attitude and sparkle in his eye, Akua reminds us how grateful we are to call these amazing equines our co-workers. With dinner-plate sized hooves and his impressive draft build, this handsome steed is one of our heavy lifters who allows us to accommodate every member of the family.

  • Hekili is a gorgeous Shire cross, who is often described as a teenager trapped in a horse suit.  Hekili means “thunder” in Hawaiian and that is exactly what it sounds like when his giant hooves pound the volcanic clay of Silver Falls Ranch.   He loves to be the center of attention, with his “look at me” personality, and he feels right at home taking guests through our tropical trails.   • This gorgeous Arabian Quarter Horse cross is our longtime guide Gregg’s first choice everyday, as he takes our guests on their next big adventure.  Arabians are known for their versatility and stamina. These beauties seem to have found the secret fountain of youth with their ageless looks and energy. Tipikai was born and raised on Kauai and shares her aloha spirit everyday as Gregg’s trusty mount, briskly walking the tropical terrain of Silver Falls Ranch!

  • This handsome Belgian cross is one of the strongest horses we have here at Silver Falls Ranch, and his name “Ikaika” means just that. Ikaika began his career in the south pulling carts in Amish country. After years of hard work, Ikaika hopped on the nearest rig and made his way to California where a Matson container was heading for the tropical island of Kauai. Ikaika thrives taking guests through the botanical gardens and sharing his passion for agriculture.

  • Kanani means “the beautiful one” and boy is she beautiful. Kanani glows with intelligence and wisdom through her big brown eyes. This gorgeous buckskin mare takes children as young as seven years old through our tropical trails, as a dependable mount parents can trust. Prior to joining the SFR team three years ago, Kanani spent most of her life traversing the mountainous terrain hunting for wild boar. She has seen and done it all!

  • Hinanu is a big, strong quarter horse draft cross. His bay color, blaze, tall white stockings and ample feather (hair on his legs) make us think he may be part Clydesdale. He has some great big numbers branded into his hide, probably from a PMU farm in his native Canada.

  • Introducing the gorgeous Modella!
    When describing Modella, the first word that comes to everyone is “elegant.” This graceful Thoroughbred is from Modella, Australia, a small rural area in Victoria.After many years of playing Polo, Modella left the life of professional athlete to settle down. Today Modella is a favorite among riders who like a horse with a little more pep in their step or one who has all the great characteristics of the classic Australian Thoroughbred.

  • Meet our Black Beauty, Ele’ele! This handsome guy came to us from California. Ele’ele is a word that means “black in Hawaiian. His flawless resume and impeccable work ethic and sleek black coat makes Ele’ele every child’s first choice for lessons or a walk through the tropical trails of Silver Falls Ranch.

  • Wahine started working for Silver Falls Ranch way back in 2006. She is a big, beautiful Morgan, Percheron and Quarter horse cross. Originally from the Yosemite area of California she adapted readily to the Island way of life. Wahine is happiest strolling along the fern lined paths of Silver Falls botanical wonderland.

  • Meet Kid! This handsome Palomino is an all-American Quarter Horse from the famous Parker Ranch. A former “cow horse,” Kid is now Silver Fall’s “Trusty Steed” and is 16 years young. Come for a visit and you’ll likely see Kid as he expertly carries some lucky guest through the tropical botanical garden of the Namahana Crater.

  • Hula Girl is magnificent. Her wild blond hair and huge personality go with her fun loving name. Hula Girl is a perfect cross between a Halflinger and a Quarter Horse, extremely strong yet one of our smoothest mounts on the ranch. This curvaceous girl isn’t the least bit shy about her appetite and is a bit un-lady like when it comes to food; we find it’s just part of her charm.

  • Our big guy is named Ali’i. “Ali’i is the Hawaiian word for “royalty” and Ali’i lives up to his name. At over 16 hands and close to 1,500 pounds, this Clydesdale cross gelding is definitely the king of Silver Falls. If you’re lucky enough to get assigned Ali’i as your horse you’ll be happy to know that we use mounting blocks to assist you in climbing on board, but once you’re up you’ll quickly forget the climb as this gentle giant provides a Cadillac ride.
